THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THE JUDGE (Y Ramzan) was stubborn loading. b) ON THE OUTSIDE (M Yeni) was stubborn loading, nervous in the stalls and thereafter, was slow into stride. c) CASPERITA (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h49) b) Permission was granted for ON THE OUTSIDE (M Yeni) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) The start of this race was delayed to allow for Jockey Y Ramzan to replace Jockey S Khathi on THE JUDGE. d) CASPERITA (R Fourie) raced green. e) Jockey M Yeni did not persevere with his riding of ON THE OUTSIDE from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. f) In view of the performance of THE JUDGE (Y Ramzan), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer K Mitchley was questioned with regard to the poor performances of THE JUDGE, as compared to his debut run on 27 February 2026. She explained to the Board that this colt had sweated up badly prior to the running of the race in his last two starts and, in her opinion, he needs to be gelded. Her explanation was noted. Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this colt on his return to the stables. g) OBSIDIAN STAR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
