THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KING PRAWN (R Fourie) was stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h22) b) EL ROMIACHI (*B Soodoo) was baulked for a clear run from the 150m. c) Apprentice B Soodoo reported that EL ROMIACHI did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. d) Jockey R Fourie reported that KING PRAWN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Trainer K Mitchley appeared before the Board and was questioned with regard to WAROFDYNAMITE's improved performance in today's race when compared to this gelding's previous run on 3 April 2026. She explained to the Board that this gelding's previous run had been on the turf over 1200m and, in her opinion, this gelding is better suited to races over a 1000m and on the polytrack. Trainer K Mitchley advised the Board that she intends to race this gelding on the polytrack and over the 1000m in future engagements, where possible. Her explanation was noted. f) TINTAMARRE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith was advised.
