The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. Steady rain fell during the running of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAXON DYNASTY was stubborn to load. b) IMPERIAL POWER lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) CONTINENTALEXPRESS over raced in the early stages. c) In view of the performance of TERMINATOR, which adopted its usual front running tactics, after over racing in the early stages, and tired rapidly from the 250m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) At the 200m TERMINATOR, which hung in from the 300m, was inconvenienced when awkwardly placed between the heels of CONTINENTALEXPRESS and COUNT OF ROUEN, which was carried in by MOHAVE PRINCE, which in turn hung in from the 350m and rolled in. e) In view of the performance of GO GRAYSON GO (4.15 lengths, 7/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer F Greyling will be asked to report back on the condition of GO GRAYSON GO on return to stables. f) Riders returned to scale slightly overweight (rain affected). g) Apprentice B A Makhubo (OFFICER IN COMMAND) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. h) SAXON DYNASTY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright was advised (MM). JOCKEY CHANGES : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) TERMINATOR : Nothing obvious detected. b) GO GRAYSON GO : Nothing obvious detected. c) CONTINENTALEXPRESS : Returned post-race having cast the left front shoe.
