THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHIHIRO (*B Plaatjies) and NICCI'S LAW (JP van der Merwe) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h00) b) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. c) Approaching the 200m, NICCI'S LAW (JP van der Merwe) had to be steadied for a number of strides when tightened for room between UP IN FLAMES (C Orffer), which rolled out and GQEBERHA (G Wright), which shifted in and was immediately straightened. d) At the 50m MON PAPILLON (C Zackey), which was initially directed inwards and into a clear run between the inside running rail and REDLIGHT LANE (*V Jodhee), was carried inwards and bumped by REDLIGHT LANE (*V Jodhee), which was hanging in and shifted in. Thereafter, MON PAPILLON (C Zackey), raced in restricted galloping room for a short distance shortly before the finish. A Stipendiary Steward called for a race review, which was followed by Jockey C Zackey lodging an objection on behalf of the 2nd placed horse, MON PAPILLON, against the 1st-placed horse, REDLIGHT LANE, on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. The Objection Board, after hearing the evidence, reviewing the patrol film and giving consideration to the margin of 0,05 of a length between the two horses concerned, was satisfied that MON PAPILLON (C Zackey) would have finished ahead of REDLIGHT LANE (*V Jodhee) had this incident not occurred and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judges' result. e) Jockey C Murray reported that SPIRIT OF NICAL tired quickly from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) MON PAPILLON, placed 1st on an objection, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PD Reeves was advised.
