THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Approaching the 300m, FIRE ATTACK was carried in by CHOISAANADA, which commenced to hang in. c) Jockey R Fourie was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of FIRE ATTACK, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than ten times (11). Jockey R Fourie signed an Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R5,300 was imposed. d) Apprentice T Mayhew was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of THE ULTIMATE KING, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than ten times (12). Apprentice T Mayhew signed an Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R1,800 was imposed. e) Jockey C Habib reported that ATTICUS FINCH did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) FIRE ATTACK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
