THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BRIGHT AND BRAZEN jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Jockey M Yeni (HOTARU) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey M Yeni reported that this filly did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with ALPINE JET in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey Wes Marwing reported that BOSUM BUDDY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Trainer C I Jonker was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate HOTARU against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer C I Jonker signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. f) JUST THE TWO OF US, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
