THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PALACE ATTACK and GIMMETHESPOTLIGHT were slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) At approximately the 200m, PRINCE OF KILDARE was carried in by DARK SILVER shifted both ways away from the crop from 400m. c) KAMBATI hung in from the 300m. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that HUEHUETENANGO made an abnormal respiratory noise and did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey D De Gouveia was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of MOUNT DARWIN, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than ten times (12). Jockey D De Gouveia signed an Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R1,800 was imposed. f) FIRE STORM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) HUEHUETENANGO examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
