THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE TONGUE TIE ON SKITTLES SKIES HAVING TO BE REFITTED AT THE START, AS WELL AS SKITTLES SKIES PROVING STUBBORN LOADING AND MASTER CHRISTMAS REFUSING TO LOAD AND SUBSEQUENTLY BEING SCRATCHED. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MASTER CHRISTMAS refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Assistant Trainer M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, was advised (GT). b) THE AFRICA HOUSE jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. c) SKITTLES SKIES stood, losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer P F Matchett was advised (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) In the concluding stages, OPEN HIGHWAY was steadied when momentarily inconvenienced between KAMENSKY and SLINKY MAPIMPI. c) Shortly before the finish line, RADICCHIO was steadied in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the heels of PAUL REVERE. d) In view of the performance of IMPERIAL MASTER, (distance 10,60 lengths, betting 40/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to MASTER CHRISTMAS, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion on a Raceday. Suspension dates: 1 May 2026 to 7 May 2026. MASTER CHRISTMAS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, was advised. f) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SKITTLES SKIES, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion on a Raceday. Suspension dates: 1 May 2026 to 7 May 2026. SKITTLES SKIES may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer P F Matchett was advised. g) KAMENSKY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
