THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ZINOVI was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h33) b) ZINOVI was hanging in from the 300m. c) FIREALLEY was hanging in from the 250m. d) NELSON BAY was momentarily held up for a clear run between the 200m and 150m. e) In view of the performance of NELSON BAY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) Jockey K Strydom was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline B on the use of the crop) in that he struck FIREALLEY with his crop arm above shoulder height. Jockey K Strydom signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R500,00. g) ZINOVI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
