THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ESCAPOLOGIST was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Approaching the 1800m, LADYOFDISTINCTION, BAKWENA, FINE WINE were steadied outwards when racing in restricted room between JAZZ CAFE and RAHHABBA which rolled in. As a result, JAZZ CAFE was steadied in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the heels of RAHHABBA. Jockey S Veale appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take more precautions when shifting ground in races. c) In view of the performances of ESCAPOLOGIST (4.15 lengths, 66/1 in the betting) and LADYOFDISTINCTION (8.75 lengths, 7/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) GERBERA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry was advised (DZ). e) RAHHABBA, placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Fripp acting for Trainer C Bass was advised (MM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) ESCAPOLOGIST : Not striding out left hind. b) LADYOFDISTINCTION : Not striding out right front and returned post-race having cast the left front shoe. c) DUCHESS OF PALOMA : In season.
