THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FUTANO lost 2 lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) SOVEREIGN GEM over-raced in the early stages when racing without cover. c) At the 1100m, DARLINGBUDSOFMAY was steadied when close to the heels of WHATASTAR which rolled in. d) At the 800m, CAPRICIOUS MISS commenced to over-race for a short distance. Thereafter, this filly hung in from the 250m. e) ACACIA'S BLOSSOM hung in from the 350m. f) Passing the 200m, LITTLEBLACKGEM was steadied when awkwardly placed between DI ROSA and the heels of DE GULDEN which rolled in away from WHATASTAR. Thereafter, LITTLEBLACKGEM was directed out to continue its run. g) At the 150m, DE GULDEN was steadied and thereafter directed to the outside of WHATASTAR which hung in from the 350m, proving difficult to assist and rolled in. h) In the concluding stages, ACACIA'S BLOSSOM was carried out by LITTLEBLACKGEM which rolled out. i) WHATASTAR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Fripp acting for Trainer C Bass was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) QUEEN FENN raced with alumite bar shoes in front, alumites behind.
