THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TIMELINE was stubborn loading. b) TURBULENT and LOOKING GOOD were nervous in the stalls. c) CAUGHTUBYSURPRISE jumped awkwardly and made contact with the right-side front gate leaving the stalls. d) DELAROCHE was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h23) b) Permission was granted for LAUDIUM to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) The Stewards granted Apprentice S Bungane (LOOKING GOOD) and Jockey MK Katjedi (CAUGHTUBYSURPRISE) permission to hack their respective mounts to the start. d) LOOKING GOOD was hanging in from the 300m. e) DELAROCHE shifted inwards away from the crop at the 250m and was immediately corrected. f) TURBULENT was carried outwards by BOURNE SUPREMACY, which shifted out away from the crop between the 150m and the 50m. g) Jockey C Little reported that he felt something amiss with SUN ECLIPSE. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. h) In view of the performance of GUTSY BABY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. i) The saddle on TURBULENT slipped back in running. This was confirmed on the patrol film. j) BOURNE SUPREMACY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith was advised.
