The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SKYLINE BELL, BRIGHTSUNNYDAY and A M C ROSE lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) At the 100m Jockey M Michel (SPLASH OF LOVE) briefly hesitated with her riding in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the heels of HOP HOP SPINNEKOP, which rolled in. c) Jockey J P v'd Merwe did not persevere with his riding on A M C ROSE and thereafter he reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this filly is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. Trainer K Naidoo will be advised. d) HOP HOP SPINNEKOP, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L V Woodruff was advised (DM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil.
