THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TRIPPING THUNDER caught his hind leg in the starting stalls, was taken out, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. This caused a further delay to the start of this race. b) NORTH STAR jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with the left-side front gate leaving the stalls. c) RAVILIOUS, OMBUDSMAN and CHOCOLATE BOMB were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h30) b) Permission was granted for CHOCOLATE BOMB to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. d) Jockey C Zackey did not persevere with his riding of NORTH STAR from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) TRIPPING THUNDER shifted out continuously away from the crop from the 150m. f) Jockey M Yeni reported that WAROFDYNAMITE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. g) TRIPPING THUNDER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised. (LM) THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) NORTH STAR - examined post-race. Not striding out right hind. b) WAROFDYNAMITE - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected.
