THE STARTER REPORTED: a) REFLECT was nervous in the stalls. b) MIGHTY MAC stood in the stalls as the start was effected, losing four lengths. c) ALADO'S PRIDE was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h38) b) Permission was granted for DEANDRE'S DREAM and MIGHTY MAC to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) The start of this race was delayed as the horse ambulance had a mechanical issue, which was attended to. d) PAST AND PRESENT over raced in the early and middle stages. e) REFLECT was hanging in from the 200m. f) ALADO'S PRIDE was baulked for galloping room at the 200m and again at the 100m. g) A BIT CHILLY was hanging in from the 150m. h) Apprentice N Nastili reported that he felt something amiss with MIGHTY MAC. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. i) In view of the performance of DEANDRE'S DREAM (Betting 33/10; Distance 6.55 lengths), the Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. j) In view of the performance of HENRY'S HEDGE (Betting 4/1; Distance 6.80 lengths), the Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. Stable Employee Y Thuthu, acting on behalf of Trainer JP Nel, was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. k) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MIGHTY MAC, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to jump on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 16/05/2026 to 22/05/2026, both dates inclusive). MIGHTY MAC may not be presented for re-passing during this period. l) Trainer TJ Laing was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that she presented A BIT CHILLY incorrectly equipped in the parade ring. Trainer TJ Laing signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R250.00. m) Apprentice B Soodoo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline G on the use of the crop) in that he struck ERIKS LOVE with his crop when this gelding was out of contention for a place. Apprentice B Soodoo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00. n) SAN QUINTIN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer E Kaknis was advised. (LM) FURTHER JOCKEY CHANGES/OVERWEIGHTS: a) *G Dookhit (AMAZING COLOURS) weighed out at 47.5kgs and only claimed 2.5kgs of his 4kg allowance. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) MIGHTY MAC - examined post-race. Not striding out right hind. b) DEANDRE'S DREAM - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. c) HENRY'S HEDGE - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. d) PICK A POMODORO - overreach right front. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
