THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STRANGE MAGIC and KING RAHUL jumped awkwardly outwards. b) STAR IN MOTION was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h59) b) Permission was granted for EL CAPITAN to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) At the 100m, EL CAPITAN had to ease to avoid running onto the heels of HONORINE'S GIMMIE, which shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. Jockey C Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of HONORINE'S GIMMIE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to EL CAPITAN when he shifted out at the 150m. Jockey C Zackey signed an Admission of Guilt and he is suspended from riding for two race days. (Dates: 26/05/2026 & 28/05/2026). d) Jockey C Little reported that he felt something amiss with STAR IN MOTION. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. Assistant Trainer NJ Paddock was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. e) DUPONT EMERALD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM) THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) STAR IN MOTION - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
