THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KENTUCKY LASSIE was stubborn loading. b) LAYDELAY was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h57) b) Permission was granted for LAYDELAY to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) LAYDELAY was hanging in from the 150m and was corrected shortly before the finish. d) GENOVEFA shifted out away from the crop from the 100m. e) Jockey J Gates reported that PHYSIOLOGUS changed stride continually in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly. Trainer E Kaknis was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. f) GENOVEFA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM) THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) PHYSIOLOGUS - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. b) AYUWI YUWI - scalp wound right hind. c) LAYDELAY - fatigued. d) KAMAKAZI - mouth injury. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
