THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DJ JUNIOR was slow, losing two lengths. b) REPETITION and FULL GO were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) TERRENCE over-raced in the early stages and thereafter tired badly from the 400m. In view of this performance, the Veterinarian was requested to examine. c) In view of the performance of FULL GO, (distance 10,10 lengths, betting 16/1), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of SAND SCRIPT, (distance 11,80 lengths, betting 10/1), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. e) Apprentice J Botes was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of MOUNT DARWIN, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than ten times (11). Apprentice J Botes signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1,800 was imposed. f) INSTANT ATTRACTION, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Mayhew was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) MAJALUN: Apprentice G Samo-Burthia weighed out at 50,4kg, only claiming 2kg of his 2,5 kg apprentice allowance as declared. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) TERRENCE examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. b) FULL GO not striding out left hind. c) SAND SCRIPT blowing post-race; scalp wound left hind. d) CASUS BELLI brush wound left hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
