THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GIDDY UP GRACE was reluctant to load. b) AUTUMN RUSH jumped slow, losing two lengths. c) NICCI'S LAW jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SCANDALIZE recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Assistant Trainer T Woolard, acting on behalf of Trainer GS Kotzen, was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. (13h36) b) Approaching the 1200m, BEFORE SUNRISE was steadied away from the heels of REDLIGHT LANE, which shifted inwards. Jockey A Fortune (REDLIGHT LANE) appeared before the Board and was advised to ensure he is clear of other runners when shifting ground in future engagements. c) SCANDALIZE was hanging out and shifted out between the 400m and the 200m. d) Jockey O Noach reported that AUTUMN RUSH did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the performance of REDLIGHT LANE (Betting 33/10; Distance 9.35 lengths), the Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly. f) KITUBA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Cast right hind shoe. c) NICCI'S LAW - mouth injury. d) ONSSILVERJET - blowing post-race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
