THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCE OF TIBET was restless in the stalls. b) LOVERS LANE was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h12) b) From an outside draw, OZARK was taken in behind runners in the early stages. c) At the 150m SHIFTING PATH and VERCICAT made contact when both horses shifted ground marginally. d) Jockey A Domeyer reported that FORTUNE ONE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. e) In view of the performance of DAWN'S EARLY LIGHT, the Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. f) Jockey K de Melo was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on LOVERS LANE, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, which resulted in a change of Rider. Jockey K de Melo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00. g) PRINCE OF TIBET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer E Steyn was advised.
