THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) DEAN STREET was fractious in the stalls, was taken out and reloaded. Thereafter, this gelding reared repeatedly and was withdrawn, causing a delay.
b) GOLD GIBOSKI was fractious in the stalls, kicked the back gates, was taken out, examined by the Veterinarian, passed suitable to race and reloaded.
c) NORTH POINT jumped slow, losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h46)
b) BLACK CHEETAH was hanging out from the 400m and had to be straightened to avoid the heels of CHURCHILLIAN leaving the 100m.
c) The saddle on DREAMLAND slipped sideways in running. This was confirmed by the Veterinarian.
d) Trainer A Fortune reported that, in his opinion, DEMANDING DAVE was not suited to the soft underfoot conditions. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding.
e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding DEAN STREET, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load on terms with a companion on a race day. (Suspension dates: 20/05/2026 to 26/05/2026, both dates inclusive). DEAN STREET may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer G Woodruff, acting on behalf of Trainer L Woodruff, was advised.
f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding GOLD GIBOSKI, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 20/05/2026 to 26/05/2026, both dates inclusive). GOLD GIBOSKI may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer G Terzi, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised.
g) FLYING FINLEY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PD Reeves was advised. (TJ)
