THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RED CORAL lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) CLOUDS CLEARING over raced in the early and middle stages, resulting in Apprentice K J Lihaba's saddle slipping forward around the turn and him not being able to assist his mount thereafter. At the 100m, the lead bag fitted to CLOUDS CLEARING was dislodged. c) An Objection was lodged by the Clerk of Scales against CLOUDS CLEARING, in terms of Rule 68.2.11, on the grounds that Apprentice K J Lihaba weighed in more than 0.5kg below the weight at which he was declared out. After giving regard to the evidence, the Objection was upheld and in terms of Rule 69.7, CLOUDS CLEARING was disqualified. d) In view of the circumstances surrounding Apprentice K J Lihaba (CLOUDS CLEARING) weighing in more than 0.5kg below the weight at which he was declared out, no action will be taken against him. e) At approximately the 150m, ANGEL OF MY HEART was directed to the inside of ECHO to continue its run. f) Apprentice B Makhubo (ANGEL OF MY HEART) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. g) GOLDEN ANGEL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
