THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KING PRAWN was stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Permission was granted for SCOTTISH KISS to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. It was then established that no lead pony was available to assist this gelding. As a consequence, SCOTTISH KISS refused to parade and proceeded directly to the start. Stable Employee Z Xamle was advised to make a lead pony available in future engagements or this gelding may be suspended. b) KING PRAWN took an awkward stride shortly after the start. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. c) ZINOVI over raced in the early and middle stages. d) SCOTTISH KISS was ridden inwards to obtain clear running from the 300m. e) KING REGENT was hanging in from the 250m. f) ZINOVI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (SP) g) LANCIAFIAMME, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WGC Miller was advised. (SP) THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) KING PRAWN - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. b) KING REGENT - coughing. c) SCOTTISH KISS - coughing. d) PORFIRIO - scalp wound right hind. e) NELSON BAY - brush wound left front. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
