During the loading process FOX ON THE RUN became restless, broke through front gates, dislodged Jockey Wright and bolted the course. The balance of the runners were unloaded from the stalls while FOX ON THE RUN was taken in hand. This caused a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FOX ON THE RUN broke through the front gates and was subsequently withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) OUTLAW KING stumbled shortly after the start. In view of this, the Veterinarian was requested to examine. c) In the concluding stages O'TENIKWA was eased when awkwardly placed between the heels of TAXI TO THE MOON, and the heels of ONE EYE ON VEGAS, which rolled out marginally away from the crop. d) Shortly before the finish TEXAS RED was steadied when awkwardly placed between the heels of TENANGO and the heels of O'TENIKWA. e) Jockey C Little reported that WILLIAM ROBERTSON did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. f) Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss in the running with LION RAMPART. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. g) Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E; Guideline C), in that as the rider of ONE EYE ON VEGAS, he misused his crop by striking this colt more than two times on consecutive strides in this race. Jockey Murray signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. h) Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that as the rider of ONE EYE ON VEGAS, he misused his crop by striking this colt more than ten times (11) in the entire race. Jockey Murray signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1800. i) In view of the Starter's report with regard to FOX ON THE RUN, this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 24.05.2026 to the 30.05.2026). FOX ON THE RUN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer J Crawford was advised. j) TAXI TO THE MOON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
