THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h34) b) At the 350m PAY THE PALACE, which was hanging out, was steadied for a number of strides and directed outwards when unable to secure a clear run between the inside running rail and OTTO LUYKEN. c) SHERIFF JOHN STONE was hanging in in the straight. d) Jockey A Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of FUTURE FREE he misused his crop by striking FUTURE FREE more than 10 times (12) in the race. Jockey A Fortune signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R5600,00. e) Jockey A Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline C on the use of the crop) in that he struck FUTURE FREE on consecutive strides. Jockey A Fortune signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000,00. f) FUTURE FREE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
