DURING THE LOADING PROCESS, TRAJANUS BECAME RESTLESS, BROKE THROUGH THE FRONT GATES, DISLODGED JOCKEY M YENI, BOLTED THE COURSE AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. THIS INCIDENT CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, TRAJANUS hit the front gates, broke through and bolted. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Stable Employee S Mtwesi, acting on behalf of Trainer S G Tarry, was advised (GT). b) IT'S PERSONAL was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start, HALBERDIER was steadied when awkwardly placed between ECHO CHECK and PAUL REVERE, which shifted out and was corrected. c) IT'S PERSONAL hung in from the 400m. d) SOSORU hung in from the 200m. e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to TRAJANUS, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 27 May 2026 to 2 June 2026. TRAJANUS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Stable Employee S Mtwesi, acting on behalf of Trainer S G Tarry, was advised. f) Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of SOSORU, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than ten times (12). Jockey C Murray signed an Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R1,800 was imposed. g) LEAD THE CHARGE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M G Azzie was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. THE VETERINARIAN HAD NO REPORTS. SCRATCHED: a) TRAJANUS bolted - immediate reinstatement (NHA / 15H44) Betting 16/1.
