THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RED JUBILEE lost 3 lengths. b) DONMAGOO fly jumped leaving the stalls. Lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) Jockey A Fortune appeared before the Board with regard to his riding of BARRY'S BOY in this race. Jockey A Fortune explained that BARRY'S BOY had not raced for a significant period of time, and after having led in this race, from outside the 300m, when he began to encourage this gelding with the hands and by flicking BARRY'S BOY down the shoulder with his crop, this gelding did not respond and only stayed on to the finish. The Board noted and accepted Jockey A Fortune's explanation. b) The Veterinarian was requested to examine BARRY'S BOY. c) QUARTER MASTER proved difficult to settle in the early stages. d) After being slow away, RED JUBILEE raced detached on its debut run. e) JENNY DARLING hung in, in the concluding stages. f) Jockey T Godden reported that he felt something amiss with ROY'S BLOSSOM in the running and as a result he did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. g) QUARTER MASTER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R A Hill was advised (DZ). JOCKEY CHANGES : a) Nil.
