THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) FIVE STAR MAGIC refused to load and was withdrawn, causing a delay.
b) GOOD SHINE, RUSH GREEN and BOSSY LADY jumped slow, losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h31)
b) Permission was granted for TURBULENT and LAUDIUM to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start.
c) TASTE THE RAINBOW was hanging out from the 300m and was corrected shortly before the finish.
d) EUGENIUS shifted slightly outwards away from the crop in the latter stages.
e) Jockey JR Syster reported that SCENTED PATH did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding.
f) Apprentice B Soodoo reported that BOSSY LADY did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly.
Trainer E Kaknis was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables.
g) In view of the report from the Starter regarding FIVE STAR MAGIC, this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 14 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 30/05/2026 to 12/06/2026, both dates inclusive). FIVE STAR MAGIC may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer E Kaknis was advised.
h) EUGENIUS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised. (LM)
