THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SIXTYZERO, GREEN POINT, STRAIGHT RED and PEEKABOO were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h03) b) Permission was granted for SIXTYZERO, STRAIGHT RED and LEIF ERIKSON to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) MAKAJIMA, GREEN POINT, INDESTRUCTABLE and PEEKABOO over raced in the early and middle stages. d) In view of the performance of INDESTRUCTABLE, which was inconvenienced between MAKAJIMA and RED FRED on entering the straight and thereafter was not persevered with from the 200m, the Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. When questioned regarding his riding of INDESTRUCTABLE, Jockey G Wright said this gelding had pulled hard in the early and middle stages, was tightened for galloping room in the straight and thereafter, commenced to race green. Jockey G Wright was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride INDESTRUCTABLE out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Jockey G Wright signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00. Trainer JL van Heerden was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. The Stipendiary Stewards will further monitor INDESTRUCTABLE's future performances. e) GREEN POINT shifted out away from the crop from the 300m. f) STRAIGHT RED was carried outwards from the 100m by BUGLE, which was hanging out and shifted out away from the crop from the 300m. g) Jockey K Strydom was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline B on the use of the crop) in that he struck BUGLE with his crop arm above shoulder height. Jockey K Strydom signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000,00. h) SIXTYZERO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM) THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) INDESTRUCTABLE - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
