The start of this race was delayed due to the draw positions having to be corrected on the starting stalls. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CALI BULLET lost 3 lengths. b) LAST SUPERMAN fly-jumped leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start, PIQUANTE was bumped by LADY REGAL, which jumped outwards leaving the starting stalls. c) LAST SUPERMAN, from a wide draw, was allowed to improve around the field to take up a leading position at the 1200m. d) At the 900m, BOURBON'S BEAST was directed outwards in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the heels of ROYAL SCEPTRE. e) PIQUANTE proved difficult in negotiating the early part of the turn. f) QUANDURA was directed inwards to continue its run, leaving the 300m. g) QUANDURA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Zietsman acting on behalf of Trainer A Wright was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED : a) GREEN COMMANDER : Returned post-race having cast the left front shoe. b) NAVAL OFFICER : Cut into left front.
