The start of this race was delayed due to WINTER IN LONDON being subject to a late Veterinary examination at the start. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GALLIC VICTOR, IRELAND FOREVER, LOVE MY STYLE and WINTER IN LONDON lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) WINTER IN LONDON was squeezed out shortly after the start. c) AZZURRI over-raced in the early stages. d) Approaching the 600m TURBO POWER, which over-raced in the early and middle stages, was directed out away from the heels of AZZURRI. e) TURBO POWER hung in from the 350m. f) Approaching the 300m BLACK FROST and GALLIC VICTOR were directed to the outside of LITTLE BOY BLUE to continue their runs. g) At the 200m GALLIC VICTOR was steadied and directed to the inside of BLACK FROST to continue its run. h) Jockey M Michel reported that WINTER IN LONDON did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. i) In view of the performances of GRAND APPEAL (7.90 lengths and 13/2 in the betting) and LOVE MY STYLE (9.80 lengths and 80/1 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. j) BLACK FROST, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
