THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THAT'S MY BABY was slow into stride. b) CARE FORGOT lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) At the 200m SYMPHONY IN WHITE was brushed in by SCARLET MACAW, which rolled in away from the heels of ONE FINE WINTER. As a consequence, SYMPHONY IN WHITE was steadied when close to the heels of RACHEL WALL. c) ONE FINE WINTER hung out from the 200m. d) At the 300m QUICKSTEPGAL and MON PETIT CHERIE came together and raced in close proximity. Thereafter, approaching the finish QUICKSTEPGAL rolled out, became unbalanced and was turned outwards when bumped by MON PETIT CHERIE which rolled in. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Jockey R Fourie on behalf of the second placed horse MON PETIT CHERIE against the winner QUICKSTEPGAL (K de Melo) on the grounds of interference in the straight. After viewing the Patrol Video and considering the evidence presented, the Board over-ruled the objection and allowed the Judges' result to stand. In arriving at this decision, the Board concluded that both horses contributed to any interference suffered. Jockey R Fourie's deposit was refunded. e) Jockey C Habib reported that RACHEL WALL took no interest in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. f) Jockey J P v'd Merwe reported that SYMPHONY IN WHITE did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. g) QUICKSTEPGAL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Prinsloo was advised (MM). h) MON PETIT CHERIE, placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J Crawford was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED : a) RACHEL WALL : Nothing obvious detected. b) SYMPHONY IN WHITE : Nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS : DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
