THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WORLD OF ALICE jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Approaching the 400m, ARISTOTLE was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and OLIVIA'S WAY, which shifted in away from the crop and was corrected. c) At approximately the 200m, WILD INTENT was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between WORLD OF ALICE and HOTARUBI. Thereafter, Jockey M Michel (WILD INTENT) did not persevere with her riding. In view of this report, the Veterinarian was requested to examine. d) Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of ALADDIN'S LAMP, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than ten times (11). Jockey C Murray signed an Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R2,700 was imposed. e) ALADDIN'S LAMP, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Mathew de Kock was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) COPPER EAGLE: Jockey R Fourie weighed out at 55,4kg, 1kg over the carded weight, of which 0,5kg was declared. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) WILD INTENT examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. b) PRESSONREGARDLESS fatigued. c) WORLD OF ALICE moderate post-race distress. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
