THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GRAND EMPIRE jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) PURE PREDATOR was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) At approximately the 1000m, DESTINY OF FIRE commenced to over-race, which resulted in this filly racing wide on the latter part of the turn and into the straight. Thereafter, this filly hung in from the 300m. c) At approximately the 600m, Jockey C Little was dislodged from PURE PREDATOR, which broke down and fell. Jockey C Little was attended to by the course paramedics. d) MONEY HEIST hung in from the 300m. e) Jockey M van Rensburg (BOB'S YOUR UNCLE) did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Thereafter, Jockey M van Rensburg reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. f) Jockey C Zackey (GRAND EMPIRE) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. g) KISSHOTEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) KAMENSKY: Jockey R Fourie weighed out at 55,4kg, 1kg over the carded weight, of which 0,5kg was declared. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) BOB'S YOUR UNCLE examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. b) GRAND EMPIRE moderate post-race distress; coughing post-race. c) PURE PREDATOR broke down left front fetlock.
