THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAH LAH LAH lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Jockey C Zackey appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his ride on HAH LAH LAH in this Race. He explained that his instructions were to attempt to settle this gelding behind horses and thereafter to run on strongly at the finish. However, HAH LAH LAH proved very difficult to settle which resulted in the bit slipping through this gelding's mouth in the running and consequently HAH LAH LAH had not run on as expected. This explanation was corroborated by the video footage and accepted by the Board. c) Shortly after the start PORRIDGE BOY was squeezed out when racing in restricted room between VAPOUR TRAIL and SAUDI CAT (ARG). d) HAH LAH LAH over-raced in the early and middle stages, proving difficult to settle. Thereafter, this gelding hung in from the 200m. e) POWERANDTHEGLORY hung in from the 250m. f) Jockey C Zackey (HAH LAH LAH) reported that the bit slipped through this gelding's mouth in the running. g) Jockey S Moodley (PORRIDGE BOY) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter Jockey S Moodley reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in the concluding stages. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. h) In view of the performances of GOOD FOR YOU (5.60 lengths and 16/1 in the betting) and HAH LAH LAH (3.00 lengths and 9/4 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. i) In view of the Veterinarian's report concerning PORRIDGE BOY, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Suspension dates (11.06.2026 - 9.08.2026 bdi). Trainer M Pandaram was advised. j) VAPOUR TRAIL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer V H Marshall was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED : a) GOOD FOR YOU : Nothing obvious detected. b) HAH LAH LAH : Nothing obvious detected. c) PORRIDGE BOY : Epistaxis confirmed. 60-day suspension recommended.
