THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KALEESH CYBORG rushed the front gates, was taken out, examined by the Veterinarian and withdrawn, causing a delay. b) MAGNUS THE GOOD was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h55) b) Permission was granted for ALLEYAH'S ROCKET to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) MAGNUS THE GOOD and ALLEYAH'S ROCKET had to be resaddled as the incorrect saddles had been fitted. Trainer DG Smith was charged with a contravention of Rule 10.5.8 in that, as the person responsible, he failed to ensure that the correct saddles were fitted on MAGNUS THE GOOD and ALLEYAH'S ROCKET, which resulted in these horses having to be resaddled. Trainer DG Smith signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2 500.00. d) BOSSY LADY bolted the course before being restrained by Apprentice G Samo-Burthia, was examined by the Veterinarian and withdrawn, causing a delay. e) The start of this race was further delayed to allow the betting public time to restructure their bets. f) Apprentice BA Makhubo (DEAD POETS SOCIETY) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. g) MAGNUS THE GOOD had to be steadied momentarily when carried inwards by ALLEYAH'S ROCKET, which was hanging in and shifted inwards at approximately the 200m. h) The saddle on DEAD POETS SOCIETY slipped back in running. This was confirmed on the patrol film. i) Apprentice EJ Muller (NORSE WARRIOR) accidently dropped his crop shortly after the finish. j) Apprentice G Dookhit reported that MAGNUS THE GOOD made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. k) TIMELINE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised. (LM) FURTHER JOCKEY CHANGES/OTHER: a) HURRICANE POWER (*B Soodoo) raced in Racing Operator's colours - Stewards' permission. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) MAGNUS THE GOOD - examined post-race.
