THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FLASH LIGHTNING was stubborn loading. b) ICHACHA was nervous and slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h48) b) Permission was granted for ALWAYS SHINING and ICHACHA to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) CHEERFUL CHARLIE B over raced in the early and middle stages. d) FLASH LIGHTNING was hanging in from the 300m. e) HOSPICES DE BEAUNE shifted inwards at approximately the 250m and was corrected. f) Apprentice S Bungane reported that PLAY ACT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. g) Apprentice EJ Muller appeared before the Board, in the presence of the Academy Riding Master, and was advised against the practice of looking backwards over his shoulder during the running of the race. h) ICHACHA returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr M Bawden) Trainer WGC Miller was advised. i) KLEINZEE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
