THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Approaching the 200m, HOLDING THUMBS, which had come to the end of its run, was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed between SHOOT THE RAPIDS, which rolled out, and NATIVE RULER, which rolled in. c) Jockeys T Godden (SON OF RAJ) and J P v'd Merwe (TENPENNY) reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of ENFLAME (12.20 lengths and 7/1 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. Trainers C/T Dawson will be asked to report back on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. e) In view of the performance of HOLDING THUMBS (5.00 lengths and 9/2 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. f) NATIVE RULER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
