THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KORCULA was restless in the stalls and thereafter jumped inwards leaving the stalls, making contact with the right side front starting stall gate. b) SILENT FUTURE was slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Jockey C Zackey (GIMMESUMLUV) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. c) Jockey J R Syster was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of NICOLSON LANDING, misused his crop by striking this filly more than ten times (11). Jockey J R Syster signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1,800 was imposed. d) HEAVENLY LACE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) GIMMESUMLUV not striding out . SCRATCHED: a) SURREAL SONG off feed (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).
