THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCE OF TIBET was restless in the stalls and jumped awkwardly. b) OZARK and WINTER PEARL were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Apprentice B Plaatjies (HIAWATHA GOLDBERG) accidentally dropped his crop approaching the 200m. b) SHIFTING PATH was hanging out in the latter stages. c) Jockey C Little reported that, in his opinion, COMMANDING was not suited to the soft underfoot conditions. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey C Bantam was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on SHIFTING PATH, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer. Jockey C Bantam signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00. e) GOLD DUST, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Rix was advised.
