The start of this race was delayed due to the previous race delays and the withdrawal of LADY TATTY at the start. JOYFUL SPIRIT was slow into stride. VINO VERITAS lost 1 length. MISTY MORN lost 2 lengths. CLASSIC ILLUSION and MURMERING SKY were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SAKANIA jumped outwards leaving the starting stalls, resulting in VINO VERITAS becoming cramped and having to be eased off the heels of SAKANIA. JOYFUL SPIRIT, pulling hard and difficult to restrain, shifted out at approximately the 1200 metre mark and carried ORANGE BLOSSOM wide for a number of strides. Apprentice Zackey reported that MISTY MORN did not act in the prevailing good to firm track conditions. Jockey Forbes reported that he felt something amiss with CHESTNUT MODEL in the latter stages and as a result did not persevere with his ride. Jockey Kennedy reported that VINO VERITAS took no interest in running. Vet: CHESTNUT MODEL and VINO VERITAS - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: TINCHY STRYDER - Lame right fore hoof. LADY TATTY - Not striding out left fore.
