SHAMSIYA was slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. IMPERIAL FABERGE and TSARINA jumped awkwardly, losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. Jockey Winnaar reported that FIRST FAVOUR changed stride continually in running. PEGWELL BAY had to steady at the 700m to avoid the heels of MATIES WILDEKAT, which shifted outwards. Jockey van Niekerk, the rider of MATIES WILDEKAT, was charged with a contravention in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to another runner when he shifted outwards at the 700m. Jockey van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days. PEARLY MOON was baulked for a clear run between the 400m and 250m. IMPERIAL FABERGE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: FIRST FAVOUR - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
