SILVER BLUFF broke through the front gate, was immediately pulled up, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and was reloaded. AZINCOURT and JUST HARRY were unloaded and then reloaded. GORR and RISKY ROSCO were slow into stride. Jockey Cormack reported that SILVER BLUFF did not stride out freely in running. In view of the performances from LOUISVILLE LEGEND, ARCSIGN, and JUST HARRY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses and to submit a report. ARCSIGN was tightened for galloping room at the 300m between CODE OF HONOUR, which was hanging out and was straightened, and SILK MASTER. CODE OF HONOUR was hanging out badly throughout proving difficult to assist. FORT NELSON was momentarily steadied approaching the 300m off the heels of RISKY ROSCO, which was switched out to continue its run. Apprentice Marday, the rider of ARCSIGN, appeared before the Board and was advised against using his crop on a horse, which is out of contention for a place in future, and to refrain from using his crop above shoulder height. AZINCOURT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SILVER BLUFF, LOUISVILLE LEGEND and CODE OF HONOUR - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. ARCSIGN - respiratory noise and striding short in front. JUST HARRY - poor recovery.
