WINGS IN MOTION jumped awkwardly, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. Jockey Hatt reported that STRIDE OUT had an overreach wound. DENIA TIBBS compounded in the closing stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine TOBESURETOBESURE and submit a report. Jockey Shea was charged with a contravention, in that he failed to ride TOBESURETOBESURE out to the end of the race. Jockey Shea signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. ENDEARMENT (AUS) was baulked for a clear run on the outside of TOBESURETOBESURE, which rolled out slightly and was switched out to continue its run at the 300m. ROSEY PEG, which was following, had to steady as a result. ENDEARMENT (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: TOBESURETOBESURE and DENIA TIBBS - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. STRIDE OUT and MID SUMMER - overreach wound on the right fore. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
