HIS APPROVAL reared in the stalls. KADAR, BULL, HIS APPROVAL, SALANDER and MON AMOUR were slow into stride. UMBANI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the performance of MISTY POWER, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Jacobson reported that BULL was not striding out freely in the latter stages. Jockey Mgudlwa signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention, in that as the rider of UMBANI, he failed to ensure that when riding in this race over a straight course that he kept straight, parallel to the running rail and relative to his drawn position until a point not less than 200 metres from the start as indicated by the marker. PASTICHE raced without steel shoes and with a full set of alumites on. Vet: MISTY POWER - nothing obvious detected. BULL - not striding out both fore. Scratched: EAGLE ONE - jarred left fore knee.
