DAVID'S FLOWER (AUS) and RED INN lost one length. TROJAN LORD lost two lengths. CLIPPERTON ISLAND was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. CLIPPERTON ISLAND shifted both ways from the crop over the final 200 metres. BERMUDA shifted in slightly away from the crop shortly before the finish. Simultaneously CLIPPERTON ISLAND shifted out away from the crop resulting in these two geldings making contact at the finish. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward with regard to this incident. After viewing the patrol videos from the various angles, no further action was taken. Jockey Marcus signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he misused his crop by striking CLIPPERTON ISLAND more than three times on consecutive strides in the latter stages. Vet: CLIPPERTON ISLAND - mild post race distress. ARCH RIVAL - moderate post race distress. Trainer Hill was advised to race this gelding in winter only after 2nd consecutive occurrence. Scratched: FREE TO BE ME - coughing.
