CAPTAIN TURNER was nervous in the stall. MILITARY EMBLEM shifted inwards shortly after the start. Jockey Yeni was brought before the Board, shown the Patrol Film of this incident and reminded of the straight course rule. Jockey Webber, feeling something amiss passing the 400 metre mark, did not persevere with his ride over the final 300 metres. TRIBAUT was hanging in over the final 300 metres. Jockey Cheyne reported that FIRST SURPRISE was not striding out freely in the running and eased his mount out of the race in the closing stages. WINNING STANCE raced green.
