KATIE EM lifted the near fore shoe en route to the start which had to be attended to by the Course Farrier, thereby delaying the start. WHERESMYMIND was nervous in the stall. IRISH LADY and KIMMI DE LAGO (AUS) were slow away, lost 1 length. PACIFIC LINE flyjumped leaving the stalls and lost 2 lengths. KATIE EM jumped outwards at the start, which resulted in KIMMI DE LAGO (AUS) being squeezed out. TESTING THE WIND shifted in slightly approaching the 300 metre mark, which resulted in IRISH LADY becoming cramped for galloping room and having to be switched in off the heels of CRIMSON FIRE to obtain a clear run. MADAME CARLA shifted in approaching the 150 metre mark and carried CHEEKY CHANSON inwards for a number of strides. Jockey Domeyer, the rider of OCEAN EXPRESS, and Jockey Zechner, the rider of TESTING THE WIND, reported that they felt something amiss with their mounts in the running. Jockey Vlooh, the rider of KIMMI DE LAGO (AUS), and Jockey Ndlovu, the rider of CHEEKY CHANSON, reported that their mounts were not striding out freely in the running. KISS AND TELL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Apprentice Mxothwa signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he, whilst riding KISS AND TELL, made a celebratory gesture before his mount had crossed the finish line. CLASSIC VICTORY raced with blinkers. Vet: OCEAN EXPRESS - short in front. MADAM CARLA - uneven behind. KIMMI DE LAGO (AUS) - abnormal respiratory noise, short left fore. CHEEKY CHANSON - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. TESTING THE WIND - short left front. Scratched: SPECTACULARUS - cast in box. The Course Farrier on duty reported that the shoes of all the runners engaged at today's race meeting were checked and confirmed with the rules. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
