PILGOVAN STAR and STRONG DOLLAR lost one length. PHILANTHROPIC was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. NIGHTSINWHITESATIN returned post race having cast the left fore shoe. Jockey Randolph, the rider of PILGOVAN STAR, and Apprentice Hoven, the rider of STRONG DOLLAR, reported that their respective mounts were not striding out freely in running. Jockey de Melo signed an Admission of Guilt for a Warning for a contravention in that he rode CHARLIE OSCAR in an unprofessional manner by dropping his crop at approximately the 150 metre mark. Apprentice Barnes signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended for a period of seven days for a contravention in that he misused his crop by hitting STORM COAST with excessive frequency in the straight. PACIFIC SOUND raced equipped with cheek pieces. Vet: PILGOVAN STAR - not striding out right hind. STRONG DOLLAR - not striding out right fore. BLACK BALLADEER - mild post race distress and abnormal respiratory noise.
