The start of this race was effected and Starting Stall gates 7, 8 and 9 did not open. A false start was called by the Starter. The horses were re-called to the start and the Starter re-tested the Starting Stalls on several occasions to find that gates 7 and 8 had been faulty. These were attended to, tested and found to be corrected and the field was re-loaded. POLLY PORCH was stubborn loading, slow into stride. TEEPEE was slow away, lost 2 lengths. JUNO'S DREAM was slow away, lost 5 lengths. In view of the Starter's report concerning JUNO'S DREAM, this filly is to be re-schooled in the Starting Stalls to jump on terms prior to racing again. MALIBU DREAM, BABAZEKA and POLLY PORCH were pulling hard in the early stages. BABAZEKA ducked outwards into the crop approaching the 300 metre mark, which resulted in MEGA MEL being inconvenienced and carried outwards. Thereafter BABAZEKA shifted outwards away from the crop, which resulted in MEGA MEL having to steady shortly before the finish line. TEEPEE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Zechner, the rider of GIANT'S NIECE, raced in Club Colours. MAGENTA ROSE raced with cheek pieces. Vet: MALIBU DREAM - coughing post race. POLLY PORCH, MAGENTA ROSE and GIANT'S NIECE - abnormal respiratory noise.
